Dear Brethren and Blessed Believers:
With thanksgiving, glory and honor to our
heavenly father, I'd like to take this
opportunity to extend special greetings to you
and your families and friends, the constituent
community of the North American Council of
Eastern Nigeria Adventists. As we get through
the year 2006 and welcome the new year 2007, we
no doubt all have so much to be thankful and so
many blessings for which we continuously give
glory to God. I trust that you will take some
time this holiday season and share your faith,
resources, and spiritual strength with members
of the community that need our ongoing prayers
and support.
Along with all members of society and believers
everywhere, all of us that have Eastern
Nigeria heritage and affiliations have so much
to celebrate as we reflect on how God has
ordered our steps in all our endeavors in our
various walks of life. It is with this
understanding that the North American Council of
Eastern Nigeria Adventists (NACENA) was
established in order to foster and facilitate
each of our involvement in uplifting the
lives of members of our community in North
America and at home, and in supporting the
various missions, programs, and spiritual
efforts that proclaim and demonstrate the
goodness and greatness of God in our community.
For the upcoming year, 2007, we have adopted
and are implementing the following strategic
visions and goals for NACENA:
-
Mission and Evangelism Initiative,
including the completion of the East
Nigerian Union HQ Conference
Center Construction Project that was started
several months ago.
-
Spiritual Emphasis in our
programming and worship including a Camp
Meeting scheduled for the weekend of July
7, 2007, in Houston, Texas.
-
Health Care Initiative that will
pursue a partnership with Adventist Health
International in the Development of much
needed infrastructure for the
following health care institutions:
(a) SDA HQ
Hospital Aba
(b) Ubakala/Umuahia
Satellite Clinic and
(c) Ogba/Rivers
State Satellite Clinic.
-
Young Adults, Professional, and Youth Leadership Development Initiative.
-
Elders and Regional Advisory Committee Initiative.
-
Stewardship, Fiscal Accountability and Communications Initiative,
including Stewardship and Fund Raising Development Projects; Member
Communications – Letters, Newsletters and Web-based communications; and
Effective Financial and Project Reporting.
-
Education Initiative
that includes participation in the Adventist High School, Ihie
Renovation in partnership with Ihie Students Alumni Association or
Adhiscana.
We
invite you to actively participate in NACENA's efforts: to advance the
mission and spiritual growth of the new East Nigeria Union Mission; to
develop the necessary infrastructure for advancing the health care of our
people; to build the leadership network for our young men and women; to
foster the active involvement of our elders and parents in sharing their
wisdom and knowledge; to foster lifestyles of stewardship, accountability
and communication; and to promote education and human development in our
community.
It
is my prayer that the Holy Spirit will move and motivate you to participate
actively in this movement. Please join the movement. God has chosen you at
this time to make a difference now in the lives of millions of our people
and the lives of generations to come. God bless you.
Thank
you so much,
Yours in service,
Emmanuel Chijioke Ogunji, President
North American Council of Eastern Nigeria Adventists (NACENA).
